Ask, Seek, And Knock

Ask, Seek, And Knock

Text: Luke 11:5-10

Have you realized that the disciples of John, and even Jesus had a prayer life? When the disciples saw Jesus’ prayer life, they wanted it. They wanted to pray like John’s disciples. These people prayed! They asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, so He taught them  by giving them the model of prayer. It’s a heart-felt prayer, and it all starts with a relationship. You can’t call someone “Father” unless you have a relationship with Him. In this prayer, He tells us to come to Him daily. He is our source for EVERY problem. He is our answer for EVERY situation. He is all we need! He is our everything!

Needs drive us to try to get what we want. Our lack of resources sometimes brings us to a point of desperation. Our needs should drive us to prayer. We need to be persistant and bold with our prayers. We need to get desperate for someone else in prayer. No matter how bad it gets or how ugly it looks, NEVER quit praying for that someone! Be persistent! Don’t give up! It may take 5, 10, 20 years or longer, but NEVER quit praying! We have a God that never sleeps or slumbers. He has a track record that never fails. God wants us, His children, to come to Him. His answer may not be what we wanted, but we must pray His will be done. We must pray without ceasing. Pray regularly! Pray persistently! Pray in all circumstances! Pray when you get the answer! Pray when you don’t get the answer! Keep praying! Prayer works!
