Text: 2 Peter 3:1-9
It’s hard to pray and say, “Lord, come quickly” when we have unsaved loved ones. The Word of God needs to be active in our lives. We need to be “stirred up” by it. We need to live as if Jesus is coming back any second. . .because He could! When we stand up for the Truth, we’ll hear from scoffers. . .those who live for their own desires and lusts. They don’t want to hear about Jesus’ return, because they are not living right. They don’t want to believe they will be judged by the Lord. They are being willfully ignorant of the Truth. For some, it’s hard to even believe in God because of all the shooting, abortions, and crime being committed. God works on His schedule. God is not bound by time. Jesus will return in His perfect timing. God’s Word will come to pass. God moves by His Word. He is NEVER late! He is patient! He is restraining Himself with patience and mercy for the lost. He wants all to come to repentance. He’s waiting for the last drug dealer, prostitute, gang banger, and homosexual. He doesn’t want ANYONE to perish! Salvation is for EVERYONE!
