You Must Bear Good Fruit

You Must Bear Good Fruit

Text: Luke 13:1-9

We all must bear the good fruit of repentance. This has to be a changing of our minds. Repentance precedes salvation. We need to act in ways that prove our repentance. . .that prove we’ve changed. We cannot walk the same way and do the same things and say we’ve repented. . .because we haven’t! Let’s not think we’re okay because our parents are in church or our uncle is a deacon. It doesn’t matter! Our ancestoral pool will not help us in the Kingdom. We can’t ride off our parents’ salvation. This is a solo walk! We have to walk it out ourselves. And, we can’t think we’ll get to heaven because we were baptised. We need to bring forth fruit unto repentance. . .the changing of our minds against the things of the world toward the things of God. Everything has changed for us! We don’t look the same, feel the same, or act the same. Why? Because God has done something in us! It is the Spirit of God that enables us to do the work of the Lord. . .to bear good fruit. This is not an event or something we just do on Sunday. It has to come alive to us. And, Who makes it come alive to us. . . the Living One, the Holy Ghost! You’ll never get tired or want to quit because He burns in us and keeps us going. We can’t break sin in our own power. It takes the Holy Ghost and Fire. We need more! We must choose Him NOW!
